Hello Resident, I'm Inspector Andrew Lemon, and I'm delighted to have joined the Devizes, Marlborough and Pewsey Neighbourhood Policing Team. I’m also the Force Tactical Lead for Rural Crime delivery across Wiltshire Police. I have been a police officer for 25 years and worked in many areas of policing, inclusive of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Proactive and Volume Crime Investigation, Intelligence and Response Policing.
Having recently taken on responsibility for policing this diverse and vibrant area, I wanted to introduce myself and share some of my priorities for the months ahead.
Our communities are unique, from our market towns to our rural villages, but one thing remains constant – people want to feel safe where they live, work and visit. My focus is on making sure we are visible, accessible and responsive to the issues that matter most to local residents.
Working alongside our dedicated neighbourhood police officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) and partner agencies, my priorities will include: Tackling burglary and protecting homes, farms and businessesPreventing and disrupting rural crime, including offences that impact our farming communities and countryside, inclusive of agricultural acquisitive crime, hare coursing and poachingTargeting retail and business crime, specifically shoplifting and repeat offenders who affect local businesses and town centresAddressing anti-social behaviour and ensuring our public spaces remain safe and welcoming for everyoneDisrupting drug-related activity, safeguarding vulnerable people and acting on information provided by our communities.Neighbourhood policing is at its best when we work together. I am keen to listen to your concerns, understand what matters to you and ensure that our policing priorities reflect the needs of the communities we serve.
